The Punjab Higher Education Department has announced the recruitment of 8,084 College Teaching Interns (CTIs) to overcome the shortage of faculty in public sector colleges across the province.
According to the official details, 5% of seats are reserved for minorities, 3% for persons with disabilities, and 0.5% for the transgender community.
Duration of Teaching Assignments
For intermediate classes, CTIs will work for seven months – from October 1, 2025, to April 30, 2026. For BS programs, the period will be ten months, lasting until July 31, 2026, or until permanent teachers are hired.
Who Can Apply?
Applicants must have at least a BS or Master’s degree with second division in the relevant subject. Preference will be given to candidates with MPhil or PhD degrees. Merit will be calculated based on academic record, higher qualifications, board/university positions, and interview performance.
Monthly Stipend
-
Intermediate classes: Rs. 50,000
-
BS/Graduate level: Rs. 60,000
All payments will be transferred directly into the selected candidates’ bank accounts.
Rules and Conditions
There is no age limit for applicants. Each CTI will be allowed two casual leaves per month. However, no travel allowance (TA/DA) will be given. Since these are temporary placements, the selection committee has the right to terminate services in case of poor performance. Any candidate using fake documents will face cancellation and legal action.
Why This Recruitment Matters
The step aims to provide immediate teaching support to government colleges across Punjab for the 2025–26 academic session. Officials say the initiative will ensure that students continue their studies without disruption until permanent staff are appointed.
