Princess of Dubai Sheikha Mahra confirms engagement to rapper French Montana, flaunting a $1.7M diamond ring after a year of dating, sparking global buzz and royal wedding anticipation.
WEBDESK — Princess of Dubai Sheikha Mahra, 31, has confirmed her engagement to Moroccan-American rapper French Montana, 40, after unveiling a jaw-dropping $1.7 million emerald-cut diamond ring on Instagram Friday.
The sparkling 11.53-carat diamond, designed by celebrity jeweler Eric the Jeweler of Mavani & Co, is nearly flawless in clarity and color. The jeweler described the piece as “a perfect symbol of the couple’s unique love story.”
Mahra, daughter of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, captioned her post with a white heart and sparkle emoji as congratulatory messages poured in from fans across the world. “Your ring is so beautiful,” one follower wrote, while another gushed, “Congratulations, queen.”
According to People, the lavish proposal took place in June during Paris Fashion Week, with both families reportedly supportive of the union. Wedding details are yet to be finalized.
The royal and Montana — whose real name is Karim Kharbouch — first sparked romance rumors in October 2024, when Mahra shared photos of herself showing the rapper around the UAE. Their relationship comes just over a year after Mahra ended her brief marriage to Sheikh Mana bin Mohammed bin Rashid bin Mana Al Maktoum, with whom she shares a young daughter.
Montana, best known for his 2017 hit “Unforgettable,” previously dated Khloe Kardashian in 2014 and shares a teenage son with his ex-wife Deen Kharbouch.
For now, all eyes are on Dubai’s newly engaged power couple — and the dazzling diamond that’s already making headlines.
