Wedding pictures of Junaid Safdar, son of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, have gone viral across social media, drawing nationwide attention to the high-profile union and fueling curiosity about the bride, the ceremonies, and the influential political family behind the celebrations.

Lahore is abuzz as images from Junaid Safdar’s wedding festivities continue to dominate digital platforms, placing the Sharif family’s private celebrations firmly in the public spotlight. The wedding events are being held at the Sharif family’s Jati Umra residence in Lahore, where close relatives and select guests have gathered for an elegant and closely guarded series of ceremonies.

Junaid Safdar is marrying Shanzeh Ali Rohail, granddaughter of senior Pakistan Muslim League-N leader Sheikh Rohail Asghar. The alliance has drawn significant interest, blending political lineage with longstanding family and social ties.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz was seen attending the wedding events alongside immediate family members as celebrations formally unfolded. In widely shared photographs, Junaid Safdar appears in a deep navy blue traditional outfit accented with gold buttons, complemented by a golden-brown shawl draped over his shoulder—an image that quickly became symbolic of the occasion online.

Public attention intensified earlier this week after Junaid Safdar’s wedding invitation card surfaced on social media. According to details circulating online, the Baraat ceremony is scheduled for January 17, followed by the Walima on January 18, confirming a three-day celebration spanning January 16 to 18.

In a previous interview, Sheikh Rohail Asghar stated that the marriage was arranged through longstanding family relationships. He explained that Shanzeh Ali Rohail shares a close bond with Junaid Safdar’s sister, and that both families were already well acquainted.

As discussions progressed, Maryam Nawaz formally proposed the match, which the Rohail family accepted. Sheikh Rohail Asghar added that both families later met former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, where final dates and wedding arrangements were settled.
The celebrations are being hosted between Jati Umra and a separate reception organized by the bride’s family in Lahore.

This marks Junaid Safdar’s second marriage. He was previously married to Ayesha Saif in 2021; the marriage ended in 2023. At the time, Junaid Safdar requested privacy, describing the matter as personal.

As wedding pictures continue to circulate, the celebrations have captured national attention—merging power, privilege, tradition, and spectacle under the glare of Pakistan’s social media spotlight.
