Due to the ongoing protests and march by Pakistan Tehreek Insaf (PTI) in Islamabad, the Sri Lanka A cricket team has postponed their tour of Pakistan, resulting in the cancellation of two matches in Rawalpindi.
According to Journalist Nasir Baig Chughtai, current political crisis has not only impacted domestic cricket but could also affect international cricket, particularly the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, which is scheduled to be held in Pakistan.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is facing increased difficulties, as India has already refused to tour Pakistan, and the current political scenario may further exacerbate these challenges. PCB’s position could be weakened in the upcoming ICC meeting,India may try to take advantage of current situation and shift the Champions Trophy to another location.
