A heartwarming cross-cultural story has emerged from Sargodha, where a Polish woman embraced Islam and married a Pakistani man after a friendship that began on social media turned into a deep connection.
According to local sources, a Polish citizen named Mangorzana developed a friendship with Matiullah, a resident of Sargodha, through online conversations. What started as casual communication gradually evolved into mutual understanding, trust, and eventually a decision to meet in person.
After months of virtual interaction, Mangorzana travelled from Poland to Pakistan to meet Matiullah. Upon her arrival, she expressed that her journey was motivated by a desire to understand his culture, beliefs, and values firsthand.
During her stay, she studied the teachings of Islam and ultimately decided to embrace the religion. She announced her conversion, adopting the name Maryam. According to her statement, the decision was made independently and from the heart, without any pressure or external influence.
Following her conversion, the couple solemnised their marriage in a local court. Officials confirmed that all legal and religious requirements were fulfilled.
Maryam stated that she found peace in her new faith and confidence in her choice to marry Matiullah. She described her decision as “completely my own,” emphasising that she had taken every step willingly after thoughtful consideration.
The marriage has drawn attention on social media, where many users have praised the couple for breaking geographical and cultural barriers. Supporters have highlighted the growing trend of international friendships leading to meaningful relationships through digital platforms.
Local residents in Sargodha have also welcomed Maryam warmly, expressing admiration for her courage to travel to a new country, adopt a new faith, and start a life with someone she met online.
