Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) Lahore Paris flight closure has been officially confirmed. The national carrier has announced it will end its Lahore–Paris route starting September 17, 2025. The last flight from Paris to Lahore is scheduled for September 12, while the final Lahore to Paris flight will operate on September 17.
According to a PIA spokesperson, flights between Islamabad and Paris will remain operational. The airline explained that the step was necessary due to ongoing preparations for its upcoming UK operations. Refurbishment of aircraft is currently underway, which has temporarily reduced the number of planes available for international services.
PIA Lahore Paris flight closure comes just months after the airline had resumed two weekly flights on the route in June 2025. The sudden decision is linked to the carrier’s limited fleet situation. Out of twelve Boeing 777 aircraft, only five are currently flying, while seven remain grounded. These planes are mainly used for long-haul destinations including Saudi Arabia, Paris, and Toronto.
Travelers from Lahore who plan to visit Paris will now have to book flights from Islamabad instead. The airline has assured passengers that the Islamabad–Paris connection will continue without disruption.
Industry experts say the PIA Lahore Paris flight closure reflects the broader challenges the airline faces with its aging fleet and rising operational demands.
