Procter & Gamble’s (P&G) exit from Pakistan marks a major shift in the FMCG industry, with Gillette Pakistan facing possible PSX delisting, impacting jobs, investment confidence, and consumer market stability.
KARACHI (Oct 2, 2025) — In a development that has sent shockwaves through Pakistan’s business and job market, Procter & Gamble (P&G), the global FMCG giant, has announced it will discontinue its manufacturing and commercial operations in Pakistan, including those of Gillette Pakistan Limited.
The Gillette Company LLC formally informed Gillette Pakistan Limited and its Board of Directors of P&G’s decision through a notice filed with the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Thursday. The disclosure was made in compliance with Sections 96 and 131 of the Securities Act, 2015, and Clause 5.6.1 of the PSX Rule Book.
According to the notice, this exit is part of P&G’s global restructuring program, which involves portfolio adjustments, supply chain changes, and organizational restructuring aimed at “accelerating growth and creating value.” Gillette Pakistan’s Board of Directors will evaluate the necessary steps for this transition, including a possible delisting from the PSX. A board meeting has been scheduled for October 2, 2025, to decide on the course of action.
P&G emphasized that the transition to a third-party distributor model will begin immediately. The company has committed to supporting its employees, offering either international opportunities or separation packages in line with local laws.
Despite the closure, P&G assured consumers that its products will remain available in Pakistan through local distributors and regional supply channels.
Key P&G brands in Pakistan include: Ariel, Pampers, Safeguard, Always, Head & Shoulders, Pantene, Olay, Oral-B, and Gillette.
