Islamabad: The federal government on Sunday announced a hike in fuel prices for the upcoming fortnight, effective from June 16, 2025.
According to a press release from the Ministry of Finance, the price of Motor Spirit (petrol) has been increased by Rs4.80 per litre, bringing the new rate to Rs258.43, up from the previous Rs253.63. Similarly, the price of High-Speed Diesel (HSD) has been raised by Rs7.95 per litre. Consumers will now pay Rs262.59 per litre, compared to the earlier Rs254.64.
The adjustment in prices follows recommendations from the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) and other relevant ministries. The revision reflects fluctuations in global oil prices and aims to align domestic rates accordingly.
These new rates will remain in effect for the fortnight starting June 16, 2025.
