The government of Haryana has recently launched a new program aimed at assisting low-income individuals between the ages of 45 and 60 who are unmarried. Under this scheme, eligible recipients will receive a monthly pension of Rs 2,750. Additionally, widowers aged 40 to 60, with an annual income below Rs 3 lakh, will also be entitled to receive a similar pension.
To implement this initiative, the state government will allocate an additional Rs 240 crore per year. Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has stated that there are approximately 65,000 unmarried individuals and 5,687 widowers who satisfy the specific age and income requirements. The primary objective of the monthly pension is to assist these individuals in meeting their personal expenses.
