The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is facing backlash after removing senior sports journalist Asher Butt from its official media WhatsApp group. The move has sparked criticism from fellow journalists, who say Butt was removed simply for doing his job—asking questions about a recent audit report that allegedly highlights financial mismanagement worth billions of rupees.
According to senior journalist Ansar Abbasi, Butt was taken off the group after he reached out to the PCB for their version of events related to Abbasi’s own story on the audit report. Abbasi called the removal “shocking” and questioned if the PCB routinely silences journalists who ask tough questions.
Another journalist, Shahid Aslam, echoed similar concerns. He claimed that the PCB’s current media director removed Butt from the group because he asked questions about the Auditor General’s report on the board’s financial records. Aslam criticized the behavior, saying that journalists working in government institutions should remain humble and professional.
The audit report in question reportedly exposes large-scale irregularities and possible embezzlement within the PCB. Journalists believe that instead of addressing the concerns raised in the report, the board is trying to avoid accountability by cutting off communication.
This incident has raised serious concerns about press freedom and transparency in sports governance. Many are calling for the PCB to clarify its stance and allow journalists to work freely without fear of being silenced.

I’m going to start my own blog in the near future but I’m having a difficult time deciding between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal. The reason I ask is because your layout seems different then most blogs and I’m looking for something completely unique. P.S My apologies for getting off-topic but I had to ask!
