Namira Saleem, the first Pakistani astronaut, is gearing up for her 1st historic space journey later this year. She secured the position of Astronaut No. 6 with the assistance of Richard Robinson.
On November 29, 2022, the Founder Astronaut of Virgin Galactic allocated her seat, marking her as Astronaut 019 and the first Pakistani to venture into space.
Virgin Galactic Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: SPCE) has officially announced that the Galactic 04 flight window is scheduled to open on October 5, 2023. The Galactic 04 mission will include three private astronauts, each bringing diverse backgrounds and cultures to this exciting venture.
All three are driven by their shared passion for space, exploration, and adventure. Astronaut 017 hails from the United States, Astronaut 018 is from the United Kingdom, and Astronaut 019 represents Pakistan.
Namira Saleem, part of a Pakistani family residing in Southern France, holds the distinction of being the first Pakistani to journey into space. She was officially recognized as the First Pakistani Astronaut by the government of Pakistan in 2006. In 2007.
Namaira served as Honorary Ambassador of Tourism for Pakistan, appointed by the Ministry of Tourism.
She achieved the feat of becoming the first Pakistani to reach the North Pole in April 2007 and the South Pole in January 2008.

Additionally, she holds the unique distinction of being the first Asian and first Pakistani to skydive over Mount Everest during the historic First Everest Skydives in 2008.
Namira Saleem is also a dedicated peace activist and was honored with the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz award in 2011. Her upcoming space journey marks another significant milestone in her remarkable career.
