Pakistan and Turkiye have strengthened their commitment to bilateral cooperation during a meeting in Istanbul between Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 51st Session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers and focused on deepening and diversifying their cooperation.
Both leaders expressed strong condemnation of Israeli attacks in Gaza, citing blatant violations of international law. They also reaffirmed their support for Iran’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, agreeing to continue diplomatic efforts to de-escalate the situation and restore peace in the region. The international community was urged to play a role in stabilizing the region.
Ishaq Dar conveyed warm greetings from Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif to President Erdogan, highlighting the importance of Pakistan’s bilateral relations with Turkiye. He also congratulated President Erdogan on being awarded by the Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum for his leadership and successful hosting of the OIC CFM session.
The meeting underscores the strong bond between Pakistan and Turkiye, with both countries committed to working together on regional and global issues. Their partnership is built on shared values and a mutual desire to promote peace and stability in the region. As such, Pakistan and Turkiye will continue to collaborate on diplomatic efforts to address pressing global challenges.
