Pakistan Clinches Series with Second Consecutive Win Over Bangladesh in Lahore T20
LAHORE – May 30, 2025:
Pakistan continued their dominance in the T20 series against Bangladesh, claiming a convincing victory in the second T20 at Lahore’s iconic Gaddafi Stadium to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series.
After winning the toss, Pakistan elected to bat first — and despite the early loss of opener Saim Ayub, the hosts put on an impressive show with the bat. Sahibzada Farhan was the star of the innings, smashing a blistering 74 off just 41 balls, filled with boundaries and attacking flair.
He was well supported by Mohammad Haris, who added a rapid 41, and youngster Hassan Nawaz, who made his presence felt with a composed 51. Even with a few middle-order hiccups, Pakistan managed to post a formidable 201 for 6 in their 20 overs.
Bangladesh bowlers Hasan Mahmud and Tanzim Hasan Sakib picked up two wickets apiece, but their efforts couldn’t stop the flow of runs. To make matters worse for the visitors, one of their key bowlers sustained an injury, weakening their bowling unit further.

Bangladesh’s Chase Falters
Chasing 202 was always going to be a tall order, and Bangladesh’s innings never really took off. Tanzid Hasan showed some promise with 33 runs, but the rest of the top order struggled to build partnerships.
While the innings seemed to be heading toward a collapse, Tanzim Hasan Sakib showcased his all-round skills with a valiant 50 off 31 balls, but it was too little, too late. Pakistan’s bowlers, led by Abrar Ahmed, who took 3 wickets, kept things tight. Every bowler chipped in with a wicket — except for Salman — as Bangladesh were bundled out well short of the target.
Series in the Bag
With this dominant win, Pakistan now leads the T20 series 2-0, with just one match to go. The third and final T20 will also be played at Gaddafi Stadium, where the home team will look to complete a clean sweep, while Bangladesh will be aiming to salvage some pride.
Pakistan’s mix of aggressive batting, sharp fielding, and disciplined bowling is proving too much for the visitors — and the crowd in Lahore is loving every moment of it.
