Lahore: (Media Bites) Alarming news has emerged that the former doctor of the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority, who issued medical licenses for flying fitness to pilots of Pakistani airlines, was himself deaf in one ear.
According to a report by Pakistan’s private TV channel Geo, the country’s aviation authority, which has not yet recovered from the scandal of fake pilot licenses, now faces another potential crisis regarding the medical fitness of commercial pilots. Questions have arisen about whether the doctors who declared Pakistani pilots fit to fly were themselves fit for the job.
It may be hard to believe, but the news is accurate: the former doctor of the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority who issued flying fitness medical licenses to pilots of Pakistani airlines was deaf in one ear.On the other doctor who has been appointed in his place lacks the required experience and educational qualifications.
It is worth noting that the Additional Director of Aero Medical in the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority holds critical responsibilities as a Flight Surgeon and Medical Assessor. This role involves issuing medical fitness licenses to commercial pilots for flying.

Regarding the recent controversial appointment of Dr. Ahreema as the Additional Director of Aero Medical, the CAA administration stated that appointments in the Civil Aviation Authority are made purely on merit.
