Pakistan is celebrating its 77th Independence Day today with a strong sense of tradition and national pride, showcasing the lasting spirit of the Pakistan Movement.
The day began with a series of ceremonial events aimed at paying tribute to the country’s extensive history and confirming its dedication to evolving into a genuine Islamic welfare state.
The festivities will kick off with a 31-gun salute in the Federal Capital, followed by a 21-gun salute at provincial headquarters. Special prayers will be conducted in mosques nationwide at dawn, asking for peace, unity, and prosperity for Pakistan.
The main event of the day was the raising of the national flag in Islamabad, which was replicated at regional, district, and divisional offices across the country.
During the flag-hoisting ceremony, Radio Pakistan and Pakistan Television will focus their programming on honoring the heroes of the Pakistan Movement. These broadcasts will honor the remarkable efforts of individuals who were crucial in establishing Pakistan.
In various cities, strong expressions of patriotism were visible. Roadside vendors sold flags, badges, stickers, and clothing, meeting the celebratory requirements of both adults and children. National flags decorated public buildings and colorful lights illuminated them, boosting the festive ambiance.
