Pakistan stormed into the Asia Cup 2025 final after defeating Bangladesh by 11 runs in Dubai, setting up a blockbuster showdown with arch-rivals India on September 28.
Dubai: Pakistan defeated Bangladesh by 11 runs in a nail-biting Super Four encounter at the Asia Cup 2025, securing a place in the tournament final where they will face arch-rivals India on September 28.
Batting first at Dubai International Stadium after being put in by Bangladesh captain Zakir Ali, Pakistan struggled early but managed 135 for 8 in their 20 overs. In reply, Bangladesh faltered in their chase of 136, finishing on 124 for 9.
Pakistan’s innings got off to a shaky start, losing five wickets for just 49 runs. Opener Sahibzada Farhan fell early for 4, followed by another failure from Saim Ayub, who was dismissed without scoring for the fourth time in the tournament. Fakhar Zaman (13), Hussain Talat (3) and skipper Agha Salman (19) also departed cheaply.
The lower middle order provided some resistance, with Mohammad Haris scoring 31 off 23 balls and Mohammad Nawaz striking 25 off 15 to lift Pakistan to a competitive total.
For Bangladesh, Taskin Ahmed was the pick of the bowlers, taking 3 wickets, while Mehidy Hasan and Rishad Hossain grabbed two each.
Chasing 136, Bangladesh’s batting lineup never quite got going against disciplined Pakistani bowling. Despite steady contributions, they fell short by 11 runs, ending their innings at 124 for 9.
With this victory, Pakistan booked their ticket to the Asia Cup final — setting up another high-voltage clash with India, who had already qualified. The much-anticipated showdown is scheduled for Sunday, September 28, in Dubai.

What a nail-biter! Pakistan squeaked by Bangladesh by 11 runs – talk about tight! Poor Sahibzada Farhan and Saim Ayub, struggling early like they were solving a Rubiks Cube blindfolded. But hey, the lower order came to the rescue with some serious hitting! Haris and Nawaz showed them how its done.
Bangladesh chased like they were playing tag, never quite getting that rhythm. Taskin Ahmed was the star for Pakistan, picking up 3 wickets – must have been fun! Now Pakistans in the final against India, September 28th, Dubai awaits! Bring it on! 😄🏏
What a bizarre Pakistan performance! Struggling early was one thing, but Saim Ayub getting out for zero again felt like watching a comedy routine – surely even the fielders were laughing! Then the lower order saved the day with some serious hitting, almost making up for the openers despair. Bangladesh chased like theyd forgotten how to run, and Taskin Ahmed was the unsung hero. Pakistan in the final? Yes, please! Bring on India in Dubai – this should be a cracker! 😄🏏
