APP: Pakistan’s armed forces have successfully foiled a major infiltration attempt by militants along the border in North Waziristan, security sources said on Wednesday.
According to officials, the attempted incursion took place in the Mawaz Kalay area, where militants identified as Afghan Taliban and elements of “Fitna al-Khwarij” were trying to enter Pakistani territory.
Swift military response
Security sources said the Pakistan Army acted swiftly on intelligence, launching a targeted operation that resulted in the killing of several militants. Others reportedly fled the area, abandoning their positions and equipment.
The forces also destroyed multiple compounds and hideouts used by the militants during the operation.
Border security under focus
Officials said the infiltration attempt highlights ongoing security challenges along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, where militant groups continue to attempt cross-border movement.
The timely action by Pakistani forces prevented what authorities described as a potentially significant security breach.
Operation to continue
Security sources confirmed that Operation Ghazab Lil Haq will continue until its objectives are fully achieved, signaling sustained military efforts to eliminate militant threats and secure the border المناطق.
The development underscores Pakistan’s continued focus on counterterrorism operations and maintaining stability in its border regions.
