The Pakistan Advertising Association (PAA) has announced the appointment of Aleem Durrani as Chairman of Zone A (Sindh) for its Central Executive Committee. This position highlights Mr. Durrani’s influence and longstanding contributions to Pakistan’s advertising industry.
As the Founder and CEO of Media Matters and Media Pulse (Pvt.) Ltd., Durrani has amassed nearly two decades of industry experience, gaining recognition for his strategic vision and commitment to fostering ethical advertising practices. His appointment is expected to strengthen PAA’s mission of supporting the nation’s advertising sector, which currently includes over 138 member agencies across the country. These agencies represent a broad spectrum of advertising services, with an emphasis on ethical and independent operations.
Reflecting on this new role, Mr. Durrani expressed his gratitude and commitment, stating, “I am deeply humbled and honored to serve the Pakistan Advertising Association in this additional capacity. It is a privilege to support our advertising community, and I am committed to making PAA a platform that inspires growth, innovation, and excellence in our industry. May Allah guide and bless our efforts.”
Mr. Durrani’s career has been distinguished by significant achievements, including his tenure as Group Brand Manager for Tapal Tea (Pvt.) Ltd. prior to establishing his own agencies. Over the years, he has become a prominent figure in Pakistan’s advertising field, recognized for his dedication to promoting industry excellence and innovation.
The Pakistan Advertising Association itself has a rich history, tracing its roots back to the Advertising Association of Pakistan (AAP), formed in the early 1950s by industry pioneer Wajid Mahmud. In the early years of independence, foreign advertising agencies dominated the industry, often repatriating profits abroad. The AAP’s efforts gradually led to the rise of locally-owned agencies led by Pakistani practitioners. Today, the PAA continues this legacy by promoting a fair and collaborative industry landscape and advocating for agency interests with key stakeholders, including the All Pakistan Newspapers Society (APNS) and Pakistan Broadcasters Association (PBA).
Under Aleem Durrani’s leadership, the PAA expects to see continued growth, innovation, and support for its members, as the association solidifies its role as a driving force in Pakistan’s dynamic advertising industry.
Media Bites wishes Aleem Durrani good luck in all of his future endeavors.
