Lahore recently hosted the grand finale of the NIDO Hum Spelling Wiz — an exciting and educational event held under the Hum in Education initiative by Hum Network. The final competition took place at Alhamra Hall and brought together some of the brightest young spellers from across Pakistan.
The competition first kicked off in Karachi, Islamabad, and Lahore, where children aged 6 to 17 participated with incredible enthusiasm. After tough regional rounds, the top finalists from all three cities gathered in Lahore to compete for the national title.

The event was graced by President of Hum Network Sultana Siddiqui, who also chaired the ceremony, while Provincial Minister for Information Uzma Zahid Bokhari attended as the chief guest. Parents, teachers, media representatives, and city dignitaries filled the hall to cheer for the young participants.
The event began with the national anthem, followed by intense and thrilling spelling rounds among teams. Students impressed everyone with their excellent pronunciation, spelling accuracy, and language skills, earning loud applause from the audience.
Finalists included students from top schools such as International School of Karachi, BVS High School, DHA CSS, Future World School (Karachi); Asas International, Preparatory School, and EMS High School (Islamabad); and Think and Grow Rewind Campus, The Trust School, and Lahore Grammar School Sheikhupura (Lahore).
The winners were announced in four age categories:

Ages 15–17: Muhammad Talha Ibrahim from EMS High School Islamabad won the top prize, with Usman S. Kakakhail and Ehtesham Amin (Future World School Karachi) as runners-up.

Ages 12–14: Salma Ayesha Khan from EMS Islamabad took first place, while her schoolmates Alishbah Jameel and Inshal Waseem were runners-up.

Ages 9–11: Alaiyah Farukh from Preparatory School Islamabad won, with Muhammad Hussam Sheikh (BVS Karachi) and Mian Muhammad Musa (Preparatory School Islamabad) as runners-up.

Ages 6–8: Muhammad Waiz Naveed Abbasi from Asas Islamabad was the winner, followed by Hadiya Rashid (Think and Grow Lahore) and Fariha Nisar (International School Karachi) as runners-up.
The winners were awarded trophies, cash prizes, and exciting gifts.
During her address, Sultana Siddiqui expressed her commitment to making the Hum Spelling Wiz an annual event, saying it offers children a wonderful chance to develop their confidence and language skills. Guests and judges praised the students’ hard work and talent, calling the competition a positive step toward promoting educational excellence in Pakistan.

The event was made possible through a partnership between Nestlé NIDO and Hum Network, with support from OGDCL, Innovative Choco Rings, Wonderland (Entertainment Partner), Avari Express (Hospitality Partner), Humz Tech (Technical Partner), Myco (Live Streaming Partner), and Burger O’Clock (Meal Partner).
Organizers shared that the main goal of NIDO Hum Spelling Wiz is to encourage children to improve their pronunciation, spelling accuracy, and confidence in a fun, competitive environment. The event aims to inspire a new generation of learners who can express themselves with clarity and confidence.
