ISLAMABAD — Shocking new details have surfaced regarding the honour killing of a couple in Balochistan, revealing they were murdered three days before Eid in Murghat, an area under the jurisdiction of Hanna Police Station in Quetta.
According to reliable sources, the slain woman belonged to the Satakzai tribe, while the man, identified as Sanaullah, was from the Salman tribe. Both were residents of the same locality and had left their area some time ago, reportedly after their love marriage stirred social tensions within their tribal communities.
After 40 days in hiding, the couple returned to their hometown, hoping to reconcile or perhaps escape the shadow of tribal vengeance. But their return proved fatal — they were swiftly captured and killed in cold blood, allegedly in the name of honour.
Chief Minister of Balochistan Sarfaraz Bugti personally reached out via WhatsApp, confirming that he has:
- Dispatched the local DSP and SHO to the crime scene to gather comprehensive evidence on the individuals involved.
- Directed that an FIR be registered on behalf of the Balochistan government, signalling the state’s formal involvement in prosecuting this heinous crime.
- Assured that the perpetrators will be arrested soon.
The brutal killing has triggered widespread outrage across the country, reigniting calls for decisive action against honour crimes, which continue to claim lives under the guise of tradition and tribal customs.
Despite the public outcry and government assurances, no arrests have been made yet, deepening fears about the safety of vulnerable couples defying outdated codes of honour.
The nation now watches closely — will justice finally prevail, or will this too be buried under silence?
