The PMLN leader Nawaz Sharif blamed Imran Khan, founder of PTI, for betrayal, saying Khan did not keep his promises of cooperation with Nawaz Sharif government. At the PMLN Central Working Committee meeting, Nawaz Sharif disclosed that Imran Khan held meetings with Zaheerul Islam and Tahirul Qadri in London, which resulted in political unrest and sit-ins. Nawaz questioned the ulterior motives behind these activities and also felt confused about the rationales behind his government’s removal.
Nawaz Sharif also talked about his possession of an audio recording of former Chief Justice Saqib Nisar, discussing how Nawaz Sharif could be removed to pave the way for Imran Khan. He called down on Saqib Nisar to be accountable and insisted that Mazahar Ali Naqvi should be investigated by the National Investigation Agency (NAB).
Having portrayed the challenges of his term in office, Nawaz castigated the judiciary for its decisions deemed to be detrimental to the country. He declared that if the PMLN had stayed in power , Pakistan would have led the world. He bemoaned the plight of people who are accused wrongly and reiterates the importance of justice.
When Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif spoke, he also expressed his support to Nawaz praising his achievements and hoping that he can return as a leader. Shehbaz, who renounced his position as party president, was appointed as acting president until May 28, 2024. The PMLN Central Working Committee meeting, chaired by Ahsan Iqbal, was attended by 109 members in total.
Nawaz Sharif focused on the CPEC project that was stalled by political turmoil. He asked to stop the actions that cause instability and reduce transparency in the country as well as provided opportunities for constructive criticism.

PMLN leadership reasserted its dedication to punish politicians and judges who have interfered with Pakistan political and judicial affairs, and restoring justice and stability.
