Muneeb Farooq, a lawyer by profession and a passionate anchor, has announced his departure from Geo News and his upcoming move to Samaa TV. With a 13-year association with Geo News, Farooq began his anchoring career on the network as the host of the popular show “Aapas Ki Baat,” which was primarily led by Najam Sethi. The show gained significant ratings, with Sethi sharing inside news using his famous catchphrase, “Chiriya.”
Initially, Farooq served as a filler on the show but gradually gained prominence with his gentle approach to questioning Sethi, becoming a hit with the audience. Following Sethi’s departure from Geo, Farooq was promoted as the anchor of “Aapas Ki Baat.” While the show couldn’t replicate the same ratings success without Sethi, Farooq managed to sustain it as an anchor for many years.
During his tenure, Farooq revamped the show’s format, transforming it into a typical talk show structure with a 1+3 format. According to insiders, Farooq’s move to Samaa TV comes with a more lucrative package compared to Geo News.
Muneeb Farooq took to social media to announce his decision to switch channels, sharing the news with his followers and fans.
