On Monday, the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) took the decision to remove former finance minister Miftah Ismail from the party. The announcement was made by PML-N’s Chief Organizer Maryam Nawaz, who also expressed her disappointment with the performance of Miftah Ismail and Shah Muhammad Shah, who has also been expelled from the party.
As part of the reorganization efforts in Sindh, Maryam Nawaz stated that Shah Muhammad Shah, the provincial president, and Miftah Ismail, the general secretary, will be relieved of their positions.
It has been reported by local media, citing PML-N sources, that Miftah Ismail will not be given any significant party position in the future.
Miftah Ismail has recently been openly expressing his differences with the party leadership and policies after being removed from the post of Finance Minister.
In a recent statement, the former minister referred to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who had mentioned last week, without naming anyone, that those criticizing the current Finance Minister Ishaq Dar have no place in his party. Miftah Ismail has been a vocal critic of Ishaq Dar’s policies.
