Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has officially declared 2026 the “Year of Youth”, unveiling programs to empower students and young professionals. The announcement took place in Lodhran during the Honhar Scholarship and Laptop Scheme event. Each year, 100,000 scholarships, 100,000 laptops, and 100,000 electric bikes will be distributed. These initiatives aim to support youth with education, technology, and mobility.
To create more opportunities, Maryam Nawaz introduced the “Parwaz Card”. This program helps skilled young people find jobs, grow professionally, and explore opportunities abroad. She highlighted that these steps will increase career opportunities and reduce unemployment. Her government also plans IT cities across Punjab, including a new Artificial Intelligence (AI) Center in Lahore, focusing on digital skills, technology, and innovation.
Maryam Nawaz called youth “her superheroes” and praised their dedication and talent. Her vision includes equal development across major cities and smaller districts. By combining education, technology, and skill programs, millions of young people in Punjab will have better chances for a brighter future. The “Year of Youth” initiative is among the most impactful youth programs in recent Punjab history.
The MediaBites team congratulates Maryam Nawaz for her visionary leadership and dedication to youth empowerment. Her programs show that education, technology, and innovation can transform lives and inspire a new generation of skilled Pakistanis.
