LSE alumna Afreen Khan tragically passed away after a horse-riding accident in Naran Kaghan. She suffered severe injuries, battled a coma, and died due to a fatal blood infection.
Lahore, August 4, 2025 — The Lahore School of Economics (LSE) community is mourning the untimely passing of Ms. Afreen Khan, a proud graduate of the Class of 2023. The news was shared with great sorrow by her close friend Ms. Hira Ajmal, who revealed that Afreen suffered a fatal accident during a recent trip to Naran Kaghan.
According to Hira, Afreen fell from a horse and sustained multiple injuries, including a severe head trauma. She remained in a coma for 17 days before briefly regaining consciousness, giving hope to her family and friends. However, her recovery was short-lived, as a serious blood infection tragically ended her life.
Afreen was the only child of her parents. Her sudden death has left them devastated and searching for meaning in the wake of this immense loss.
“It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our alumna, Ms. Afreen Khan,” read a statement from the Lahore School. “As we reflect on this profound loss, we extend our heartfelt condolences to her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched.
