Kolkata law student gangrape: Filmed, beaten with hockey stick, and blackmailed, shocking details surface

The accused not only assaulted and injured her but also filmed the ordeal, and later blackmailed her with threats to release the footage online.

The Kolkata law college incident occurred on June 25, between 7:30 pm and 10:50 pm, in what the survivor describes as a night of horror and helplessness. The police complaint names Manojit Mishra (a college staffer), Zaib Ahmed (19), and Pramit Mukherjee (20), all of whom have now been arrested and remanded to four days in police custody.

“I Touched His Feet and Begged”: Survivor’s Gut-Wrenching Account

According to the FIR and her statement to the police, the survivor was:

• Beaten with a hockey stick

• Locked inside the college while the main gate was bolted

• Raped while her pleas were ignored

• Threatened with death and blackmail

• Filmed during the assault

“I cried and begged. I even touched his feet. I told them I had a boyfriend. They didn’t care,” she said, as reported by NDTV.

The Kolkata law college victim alleged that the accused filmed the assault on their phones and warned her of leaking the videos online if she reported the incident. She further said a guard was present but did not intervene, allegedly helpless against the attackers.

Medical Report Confirms Assault

A senior Kolkata Police officer confirmed that medical examination findings support the gangrape allegation. Forensic teams have confiscated and are examining the accused’s phones for video evidence.

The law student was left with visible injuries, including bite marks and nail scratches, according to medical records.

The case has reignited memories of past atrocities, including the 2024 rape-murder of a medical intern at RG Kar Hospital, and has drawn fierce criticism of law and order in West Bengal.
