Natasha Danish, the woman accused in Karsaz car accident case, is granted bail and released from custody after 43 days in Karachi.
She was granted bail by the Judicial Magistrate (East) who accepted a Rs 1 million surety bond, which proved to be one of the significant developments in her case.
The Judicial Magistrate (East) approved her release on bail with a bond of one million rupees, a major development in her legal proceedings. Natasha, who was accused in both a car accident and a drug case, was released after paying the necessary bond.
Justice Abdul Kareem Khan Agha presided over the proceedings of Natasha’s bail plea in the drug case at the Sindh High Court.
The court declared that all its decisions would be given respecting the law; therefore, nobody would decide by outside pressure. Barrister Farooq H. Naik represented Natasha on this hearing.
As an added fact, Natasha was already out on bail as a result of the car accident case before she came into this fresh hearing.
Farooq H. Naik, her lawyer, contended that the public prosecutor asserted Natasha was intoxicated during the accident, but the medical report presented contradictory findings. Methamphetamine was found in her urine, but not in her blood, prompting doubts about the test’s reliability.
The judge inquired the district attorney regarding the amount of methamphetamine discovered, however, the medical report did not detail the quantity. Naik also claimed that Natasha had been receiving psychiatric treatment for many years, indicating that the substance found could have been from her prescribed medication.
Justice Agha also recognized the apology between Natasha and the car accident victims, mentioning that she is a mother of three kids and had already served a long time in prison. Having listened to both arguments, the court granted her bail in the drug case.
Natasha must now attend the relevant court on October 3 for further proceedings.
