In a recent candid interview, Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut didn’t hold back when discussing the disconnect she perceives between Bollywood stars and reality. “People in Bollywood live in a bubble. And that is one of the biggest reasons I have a problem with them.
Kangana said, ‘Kyunki yeh log bubble se nikalna nahi chahte han (They don’t want to come out of the bubble),” she said. Ranaut added, “All they need is to go to the gym, take protein shakes, take injections. They don’t have any connection with reality. Inko chaiye six pack abs, hot babe, beach, bike, item number bas bahut hai (They want six pack abs, hot babe, beaches, bike and item numbers. That’s enough for them). It is important to have a reality check.”
Ranaut’s latest film, “Emergency”, will be released on January 17, 2025. The film, directed by Ranaut herself, delves into the 21-month-long state of emergency imposed by former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi from 1975 to 1977. The movie stars Ranaut in the lead role as Gandhi, alongside Anupam Kher, Shreyas Talpade, Mahima Chaudhry, and Milind Soman.
Ranaut’s filmography includes critically acclaimed films like “Queen”, “Tanu Weds Manu”, and “Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi”. Despite her success, she has been no stranger to controversies, often voicing her opinions on nepotism and alleged bullying in the industry.
