The electric bike trend in Pakistan is rapidly gaining traction, and when comparing Jolta vs Metro eBike, many find themselves stuck choosing between the two. Both brands promise affordability, eco-friendliness, and low maintenance, but real-world riding reveals clear differences. This comparison is based purely on road-tested experiences — straightforward and practical.
Jolta looked sportier while Metro kept things simple
Jolta eBike has a sporty and modern design. Its front look gives a solid presence, and the detailing in the indicators and headlamp feels premium. On the other hand, Metro eBike is lightweight and more minimal in appearance, resembling a classic bicycle more than a motorbike. Riders who prefer a muscular frame are drawn to Jolta, while Metro suits those who want something light, simple, and easy to handle.
Jolta’s battery lasted longer on daily runs
Jolta comes with a lithium-ion battery that gives a range of 70–80 km per charge and takes 5–6 hours to fully recharge. It performs well on inclines and doesn’t lose power easily. Metro, however, uses a lead-acid battery with a range of around 50–60 km and a longer charging time of 7–8 hours. It noticeably slows down on uphill roads, especially with extra weight.
Jolta soaked up the bumps better
Jolta’s suspension system handles bumps and potholes smoothly, making rides more comfortable on rough urban roads. The seat is wide and positioned at a comfortable height. Metro feels more bouncy on uneven roads due to its softer suspension. It’s suitable for short, smooth commutes but less ideal for longer journeys or bad roads.
Jolta clearly pulled ahead in speed
Jolta offers a top speed of around 60 km/h, which feels closer to a traditional petrol motorbike. It also has wider tires that provide better grip during sharp turns and sudden brakes. Metro’s top speed is limited to 40–45 km/h, which works fine within city limits but lacks the punch needed for open roads.
Metro started to struggle with two people on board
Jolta performs better with two people on board. It doesn’t lose momentum on inclines or rough patches, and the frame easily supports the load. Metro, in contrast, starts to lag with a second passenger, especially on flyovers or uphill roads.
Jolta’s digital screen was a daily convenience
Jolta features a digital display that shows battery level, speed, and indicators clearly — helpful during night rides. Metro has a simple analog meter with only the basic info. For those used to tech-driven dashboards, Jolta feels like a better choice.
Getting Jolta serviced was far easier
Jolta’s spare parts are more widely available in Pakistan’s urban centers, and the company has a growing network of service points. Metro still has limited service availability, and parts are harder to source. Complaints about service delays are more common with Metro.
Metro was cheaper, but Jolta gave more value
Jolta eBikes range between PKR 180,000–220,000, depending on the model and battery. Considering its features and build quality, the price feels justified. Metro is more affordable, priced between PKR 120,000–150,000, making it suitable for those with tighter budgets.
Both bikes were eco-friendly, but Jolta saved more
Both Jolta and Metro are eco-friendly and emit zero pollutants. On average, the cost per kilometer is less than PKR 2. However, Jolta offers slightly better battery efficiency, which may result in lower long-term electricity bills.
Metro felt lighter in traffic, Jolta owned the highway
In crowded city streets with short commutes, Metro feels nimble and easy to manage. But on long stretches, highways, or rough roads, Jolta feels more stable, powerful, and reliable. Its extra torque, better suspension, and higher speed deliver a more complete riding experience.
Metro suits light use, but Jolta does it all
Metro eBike is a good option for budget buyers who need a light and compact electric ride for short daily tasks. Jolta, however, stands out for those who value performance, comfort, and a more durable, bike-like experience.
