After spending more than eight years at Unilever Malaysia, Javed Jafri aka JJ has re-joined Unilever Pakistan as Media, Digital & Data Lead where he first started his career 13 years ago.
This news was announced by Pakistan’s top media strategist Javed Jafri through social media platform, saying that he is super excited to start a new role as Media, Digital & Data Lead at Unilever Pakistan.
Unilever shifted Mr Jafri to a South Asia-based job of media, data and digital lead for the Pakistan market. He will provide his services being as a part of South Asia Media and digital team under the leadership of Tejas Apte GM Media South Asia in Unilever.
Before joining the position as Media, Digital & Data Lead in Pakistan, Jafri has been working with Unilever in Malaysia over 8.5 years, with his most recent role being media and digital hub lead for its various brands. Before leaving for Malaysia in 2014, he was previously based in Pakistan, helming the role of head of media at Unilever for four years.
During his tenure in Pakistan, he drove brand strategies for over 40 brands, and developed media marketing strategies through user mapping, measuring the performance of digital marketing campaigns, and assessed ROIs and KPIs. Now after serving almost 12.5 years with Unilever, he can be called as JJ, Baba-e-Media of Unilever.
Mr Jafri’s LinkedIn profile shows that he has over 22 years of experience driving customer centric projects in the marketing and media industry, rolling out brand campaigns and reinforcing brand images.
He started his career back in January 1999 as the senior manager strategic planning Pak Mediacom. After 4.5 years in Pak Medicom, he moved to Tapal Tea as the corporate & marketing services manager, then was promoted to the most lucrative post of strategic media manager, Telenor Pakistan.
Almost enjoying perks of strategic media manager for one year, JJ finally moved to his first position with Unilever in 2010 when he worked as the head of media at Unilever Pakistan in Karachi. During his stay in Malaysia, he also achieved a milestone becoming the VP, Advertising Association of Malaysia. Jafri has been with Unilever for over 12 years, with his most recent role being media and digital hub lead for Malaysia, Singapore, Myanmar, Cambodia, and Laos.
Moreover, Javed Jafri got his MBA with major in Marketing in 1999.
