Ketamine Queen pleads guilty in the overdose death of Friends star Matthew Perry. Jasveen Sangha, known by that nickname, has admitted to selling the drug that caused Perry’s death in October 2023.
Sangha, a 42-year-old citizen of the US and the UK, is the fifth and final defendant to strike a plea deal with federal prosecutors. She agreed to plead guilty to five federal charges, including distribution of ketamine resulting in death. Prosecutors described her as a prolific dealer, well known among celebrity clients.
According to court documents, Sangha provided Perry with large amounts of ketamine, including 25 vials worth \$6,000 just four days before his death. She also sold ketamine-laced lollipops. On the day Perry died, she told one of her associates to delete their messages, highlighting her attempt to cover her tracks.
Investigators linked her to another overdose in 2019 involving a man named Cody McLaury. She admitted to selling him four vials of ketamine hours before his death. Alongside Perry’s case, this strengthened the charges against her.
Three other defendants — Dr. Mark Chavez, Perry’s assistant Kenneth Iwamasa, and friend Erik Fleming — had already agreed to cooperate with prosecutors. Another dealer, Salvador Plasencia, also pleaded guilty earlier this year.
Perry, beloved worldwide for his role as Chandler Bing on Friends, had long battled addiction. He was using ketamine legally as part of a depression treatment but sought more through dealers. The Los Angeles medical examiner ruled ketamine as the main cause of his death.
Sangha now faces up to 45 years in prison. Her official sentencing will be scheduled after a court hearing.
