Islamabad’s Capital District Administration Declares Two-Day Closure: July 31 and August 1 in light of the visit of Chinese Vice Premier, He Lifeng.
In light of the upcoming visit of He Lifeng, Vice Premier of China and Member of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Communist Party, the district administration of Islamabad has issued a notification stating that schools, colleges, and offices will remain closed on Monday and Tuesday, July 31 and August 1.
According to the announcement by District Magistrate Irfan Nawaz Memon, this closure applies to all public and private educational institutions, including universities. In addition to educational establishments, all private entities, companies, markets, shops, and commercial banks will also observe a shutdown during these two days.
The purpose of this closure is to facilitate the Vice Premier’s visit to Pakistan, where he will be attending the 10th-anniversary celebrations of the China–Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). He Lifeng, also a Special Envoy of President Xi Jinping, is scheduled to meet with the President and the Prime Minister during his stay in the country.
