Pakistani sensation Mahira Khan, renowned for her breakout role in the hit drama Humsafar, continues to captivate audiences with her stellar performances. From the big screen in The Legend of Maula Jatt to the small screen in Hum Kahan Ke Sachay Thay, she has proved herself in the entertainment industry. Her recent short series, Razia, received widespread acclaim for her outstanding acting and captivating screen presence.
According to a report by Times of India, Mahira is set to make her Malayalam debut in the much-anticipated sequel, ‘L2E – Empuraan.’ She will be sharing the screen with acclaimed actors Mohanlal and Prithviraj Sukumaran, promising a visual treat for the audience.
The buzz around this project intensified after the Mumbai High Court lifted the longstanding ban on Pakistani artists working in India.
The ban on Pakistani actors and professionals in India was initiated by the Indian Motion Picture Producers Association (IMPPA) in response to the 2016 attack on the Indian army post in Uri. This decision, which attributed accountability to Pakistan for the incident, resulted in the termination of various successful collaborations. According to reports from Indian media, the Bombay High Court has recently rejected a petition aiming to restrict Pakistani musicians from participating or engaging in work in India.
