An Iranian delegation has arrived in Saudi Arabia on Wednesday to facilitate the reopening of the Iranian embassy and consulate, following a reciprocal visit by a Saudi delegation to Tehran. This development comes after a Chinese-brokered agreement last month, as reported by the official IRNA news agency.
“The Iranian delegation arrived in Riyadh on Wednesday to visit and reopen the embassy and consulate in line with the recent agreement between the two countries,” stated the agency.
The gates of the Iranian embassy’s compound in Riyadh were open, and a team was seen inspecting the premises, with a white truck arriving at the gate.
This diplomatic mission follows the recent visit of a Saudi delegation to Tehran on Saturday, where mechanisms for reopening the Kingdom’s representations in Iran were discussed. It also comes after the foreign ministers of both countries met in Beijing last Thursday.
