In a somber turn of events, the mortal remains of Sardar Pritam Singh, an Indian citizen visiting Pakistan for Guru Nanak’s birth anniversary, were transferred to the Border Security Forces (BSF) of the Indian Army at Wagah-Attari border on Sunday.
Sardar Pritam Singh’s wife was present at the border to receive his body. The handover process occurred under the supervision of Additional Secretary Shireen Rana Shahid Saleem and Sardar Ameer Singh, the Pradhan of Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee. Accompanying Pritam Singh’s remains was his colleague, Sardar Sukhpal Singh, who also departed for India via the Wagah border.

The Ministry of Interior authorized the transfer of the body to the BSF.
Pritam Singh, aged 75, passed away on Saturday night. Born on July 2, 1948, he hailed from Haryana, India. His mother’s name is Veer Kaur, and his wife is named Gurdeep Kaur.
He was part of a pilgrimage group visiting Pakistan for the 554th birth anniversary celebrations of Baba Guru Nanak Devji. After the pilgrimage to Gurdwara Rohri Sahib in Aminabad on Saturday, they reached Gurdwara Dera Sahib, Lahore. Unfortunately, Pritam Singh’s health deteriorated suddenly, and he was rushed to the Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) with the assistance of Rescue 1122, where he passed away.
