In an alleged leaking of state secrets case trial, a court in Pakistan has asked the authorities to present jailed former Prime Minister Imran Khan next week before the court.
The special court established under the Official Secrets Act in the capital city Islamabad on Thursday said Imran Khan and former Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, also in jail, should be produced in court on November 28.
This marks Khan’s first public appearance since his imprisonment in August, stemming from a separate case involving the illegal selling of state gifts.
Despite a bail order, Khan remained in custody due to a trial in the “cypher case.” However, the Islamabad High Court recently declared his in-jail trial illegal.

Imran Khan, facing multiple legal challenges, contends that his political downfall is the result of a conspiracy involving the United States, political rivals, and the military.
His party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), anticipates significant gains in the upcoming general election, despite Khan’s legal restrictions.
