Huawei to Unveil Pangu Chat, its AI Chatbot with a High Parameter CountChinese multinational company Huawei is preparing for the launch of its own artificial intelligence chatbot named ‘Pangu Chat.’ This chatbot is built on Huawei’s large-scale learning model, boasting an impressive 100 billion parameters. It is considered to be the first Chinese pre-trained model with such a high parameter count. While Pangu Chat is expected to perform at a similar level to GPT-3, it falls short of GPT-4, which reportedly has over 170 trillion parameters, surpassing Huawei’s model by a significant margin.
The debut of Pangu Chat will take place on July 7th at the Huawei Developer Conference (Cloud) event. However, initially, the chatbot will be made available to businesses, with plans to later extend its reach to government and enterprise customers. Huawei has invested 960 million yuan over the past three years to train the Pangu cloud model, allocating a substantial amount towards 2000 Huawei Ascend 910 chipsets and 4000 GPU/TPU cards.
Furthermore, Huawei has also developed the Pangu-E large model, which serves as the successor to the Pangu cloud model. With an output of nearly 1.085 trillion parameters, the Pangu-E model competes with GPT-4 and surpasses GPT-3.5 in terms of parameter count, showcasing Huawei’s commitment to advancing AI technology.
