Mohammed Saeed Al Shehhi, Secretary-General of the UAE Media Council, commends the Global Media Congress (GMC), a significant annual forum held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court. Al Shehhi praises the GMC for fostering the exchange of ideas and experiences on a global scale.
He underscores the Global Media Congress’s role in forging partnerships among nations, corporations, and innovative individuals, contributing to the shaping of the future of media. Additionally, the GMC provides a platform for exploring opportunities for industry growth and development.
In his remarks during the second edition of the Congress, Al Shehhi states, “The Global Media Congress represents a pivotal platform for keeping pace with the rapid changes and developments in the media sector with the technical development witnessed by this sector, which has entered a new era thanks to new trends and innovative technologies that have contributed to changing the concept of media.”

He emphasizes the need for a global dialogue to explore the vast potential of emerging media technologies and how to leverage them to enhance the local media environment.
Al Shehhi notes, “GMC offers a prime chance to share our media experience and expertise, showcasing the advancements in the media sector and highlighting key achievements from the past decades.”
Highlighting the alignment of the Congress with the UAE’s hosting of COP28, Al Shehhi emphasizes the significant role of media in advocating sustainability, addressing climate change, and contributing positive content to raise awareness of environmental issues. He underscores the media’s role in fostering a deeper sense of societal duties and responsibilities toward the environment.
Expressing satisfaction with the widespread participation of national universities, media students, and local talents in the global media event, the Secretary-General stresses the necessity of building communication bridges between local talents and international experts to determine the paths of future media development.
