Abu Dhabi: The 3rd edition of the Global Media Congress (GMC) 2024 concluded in Abu Dhabi on November 28, 2024, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Deputy Prime Minister of the UAE.
Organized by ADNEC Group in collaboration with the Emirates News Agency (WAM), this great event highlighted the UAE’s commitment to being a global leader in media innovation. It attracted over 840 media professionals and 218 organizations from 30 countries, reflecting its growing international importance.
According to media reports, Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Butti Al Hamed, Chairman of the UAE Media Council, emphasized the UAE’s role as a main media hub, underscoring the country’s advanced digital infrastructure and its ability to foster collaboration among global media institutions. He appreciated the event’s success in facilitating discussions on media’s role in addressing global challenges, promoting cultural diversity, and creating content for future generations.
The Congress saw a memorable expansion, covering 37,000 square meters, a 16% increase from the previous year. It offered a dynamic program, including 96 discussion panels, four keynote sessions, 8 Media Lab events, and 25 interactive workshops, attracting over 25,500 visitors. Dr. Jamal Al Kaabi, Director General( DG) of the National Media Office, highlighted the success of the event and noted the upcoming release of white papers detailing the outcomes of the Congress.
Humaid Al Dhaheri, ADNEC Group’s CEO, appreciated the Congress’s role in positioning Abu Dhabi as a global media innovation hub. The event’s discussions stressed collaboration, sustainability, and innovation, setting a roadmap for the future of media. As GMC 2024 closed, it reinforced its legacy as a key platform for addressing the challenges and opportunities of the evolving digital media landscape.
