France has experienced a surge of protests following the death of a 17-year-old named Nahel, who was killed by police near Paris in late June. The protests turned violent, with demonstrators looting shops and setting them on fire. Videos circulating on social media depict individuals setting vehicles ablaze and causing damage to buildings, while riot police clashed with the protesters in an attempt to maintain control.
Unfortunately, the Pakistani community also fell victim to the unrest, as their businesses were targeted and damaged by the protesters. Ibrahim Dar, a Pakistani businessman who owns four restaurants under the brand name Chicken Spot in different cities, suffered significant losses when enraged protesters looted and set fire to his establishments.
The Pakistani community has condemned the incident and expressed solidarity with Dar in this challenging time. Meanwhile, the police have made numerous arrests across various cities, and French President Emmanuel Macron has pledged to suppress the ongoing protests.
