London: Imprisoned PTI founder Imran Khan is no longer in the running for Oxford University’s chancellorship.
According to media reports, Oxford University has released a list of eligible candidates for the elections, which includes 38 candidates. Imran Khan Niazi’s name is not included in the list of candidates for chancellor.
In a statement, Oxford University’s administration said that for the first time, open applications were invited, and the Chancellor Election Committee reviewed all applications under the regulations.
The first round of voting will take place on October 28, during which voters can cast their ballots. The five candidates receiving the most votes will proceed to the second round of voting.
After Lord Patten of Barnes announced his retirement, the university will, for the first time, conduct the chancellor’s election based on online popularity, inviting alumni to rank the candidates.
The candidates include Lord William Hague, Lord Peter Mandelson, Lady Elish Angiolini, and Dr. Margaret.
