On 76th Azadi, Independence Day where the whole nation is celebrating the day with jubilance and passion on the other hand people were doing reckless aerial firing making this day tragic for many.
During the commemoration of Pakistan’s 77th Independence Day, the exuberant revelry turned tragic as multiple incidents of aerial firing marred the celebrations across different districts of Karachi. Regrettably, this recklessness resulted in the loss of at least two lives and left over 80 individuals injured.
At the stroke of midnight, enthusiastic celebrants resorted to celebratory gunfire to mark the occasion. This reckless behavior led to unfortunate consequences in various localities, including Lyari, Garden, Landhi, Korangi, Mehmoodabad, New Karachi, Bilal Colony, and Garden, where more than 80 people sustained injuries, as reported by rescue sources.
Tragically, amidst these incidents, a woman met her demise in the Numaish Chowrangi area of the city when an errant bullet struck her from an undisclosed direction.

In response to the situation, the rescue sources conveyed that 24 of the injured have been transferred to Civil Hospital, 29 to Jinnah Hospital, and 30 to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medical attention and care.
On this significant day, as the nation united to celebrate Independence Day, a solemn commitment to uphold the ideals of the Pakistan Movement and foster a genuinely Islamic welfare state resonated. The day commenced with a thirty-one-gun salute in the federal capital and a twenty-one-gun salute at the provincial headquarters.
To ensure the maintenance of law and order throughout the festivities, the police meticulously devised a comprehensive security strategy. Alongside the police force, personnel from the Dolphin Force, special branch, and elite units were deployed across cities to swiftly address incidents of aerial firing, curb the activities of individuals performing dangerous stunts like wheelies or riding bikes without proper silencers, and apprehend vendors of disruptive honking toy horns.
While the nation embarked on this day of celebration and reflection, these unfortunate incidents serve as a somber reminder of the need for responsible and safe conduct during jubilant occasions.
