The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested a foreign national, identified as Jian Lee Hang, for orchestrating online loan app fraud in Pakistan during a cybercrime operation.
According to the details, the arrest took place in Lahore’s Gulberg area. Jian Lee Hang is the ‘leader’ of a network of online loan app fraudsters operating within the country.
The FIA has designated him as the ‘mastermind’ behind this fraudulent scheme, which has victimised hundreds of unsuspecting Pakistanis. During the investigation, the accused admitted to being involved in numerous fraud cases.
It was also discovered that Jian Lee Hang had been operating in Pakistan for a period of ten months, during which he hired several Pakistani nationals to assist in his fraudulent activities. Furthermore, he resorted to blackmailing citizens by gaining unauthorised access to their personal data, exacerbating the harm caused to the victims.
