During this engaging interview, Faryal shared her journey within the Pakistani television and film industry, providing updates on her life after her last project, “Raqeeb Se,” which concluded in 2021.
To a question about her previous remarks concerning questionable intentions of men in the industry, Faryal offered an insightful perspective. She eloquently stated that her subsequent experiences had revealed a universal truth: the issue of inappropriate behavior from men transcends professions and geographical boundaries. In her view, misconduct is not limited to the entertainment industry.
The perceptive host concurred with her viewpoint, acknowledging that the problem of misconduct among men is not confined to any specific location or field. Faryal, renowned for her role in “Gustakh,” went on to discuss the positive impact of the #MeToo Movement on Pakistani actors.
She noted, “Since the emergence of the MeToo Movement, I’ve witnessed a significant transformation in male actors. They now treat us with a heightened sense of respect and affection. It’s as if the problem never existed.”
Faryal also offered her insights into the societal dynamics at play, asserting, “We live in a profoundly manipulative society.” She shared a personal anecdote from her childhood, recalling a time when unchecked aggression led to an unfortunate incident where she inadvertently injured a school peer during a physical altercation.
Candidly, she admitted to her past struggles with anger management. She reflected on how she has channeled her youthful physical expressions of anger into mental strength, emphasizing the importance of strategic thinking when confronting manipulative forces, such as the complex landscape of Pakistani society, which she found to be particularly challenging.
On the work front, Mehmood’s recent projects include “Kambakht,” “Sorry: A Love Story,” and “Half Fry.”
