According to District Police Officer (DPO) Mushtaq Khan, a love-struck Indian woman successfully crossed the borders to meet her lover in the Upper Dir district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. The woman, Anju, aged 35 and unmarried, hails from Kailor in India’s Uttar Pradesh. Her journey to Upper Dir was made via the Wagah Border, and she possessed complete documentation and a valid visa for a month-long stay in Pakistan.
As reported by The News, Anju’s romantic involvement with Nasrullah, a 29-year-old resident of Kulshoin village in KP’s district, began on Facebook and eventually evolved into love. She expressed her deep affection for Nasrullah, stating that she couldn’t imagine life without him, which motivated her to travel to a rival country.
Anju disclosed that she made the decision to leave her country and visit Pakistan, acquiring a visit visa for Upper Dir.
DPO Khan confirmed that Anju was in the custody of the police, and an investigation was underway regarding her travel to Pakistan. He assured that she possessed a valid visa and efforts were being made to ensure her security. Once cleared, she would be presented before the media.
Meanwhile, a security official revealed that the friendship between Anju and Nasrullah was also under investigation.
Local journalists attempted to reach Nasrullah’s house upon the news of Anju’s arrival spreading on social media, but they were informed that she was not present at his residence.
This incident marks the second instance in a month where a woman has crossed the boundaries between Pakistan and India due to love. Earlier, a married Pakistani woman and mother of four, Seema Haider, now Seema Sachin, had secretly traveled to India to marry her Indian lover Sachin, whom she had connected with through the online game PUBG. Seema Sachin now resides with her new husband in his village in India.
