Ducky Bhai remand extension. A Lahore court has extended the physical remand of YouTuber Saad-ur-Rehman, popularly known as Ducky Bhai, until August 28 in a case related to promoting gambling and uploading obscene content on social media.
According to Dawn News, Judicial Magistrate Naeem Wattoo approved the extension during a hearing on Friday. The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) had sought a 24-day remand, but the court granted only five days.
The investigating officer argued that additional time was required to complete the interrogation. However, Ducky Bhai’s lawyer countered that the accused’s mobile phone and laptop were already in the agency’s custody. And could be subjected to forensic examination, questioning the need for further remand.
Ducky Bhai remand extension. After hearing both sides, the magistrate directed the NCCIA to present the accused again on August 28.
Earlier, on August 19, the court had extended his remand by four days.
The NCCIA had arrested Ducky Bhai on August 17 at Allama Iqbal International Airport. The agency alleges that he promoted unregistered gambling applications through his YouTube channel and social media accounts, causing financial losses to the public.
Investigators further claim that WhatsApp chats and payment records recovered from his phone link him to the gambling networks. They also allege he worked as a “Country Manager” for one such application without approval from the State Bank of Pakistan and the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).
