Lahore(Media Bites)-Renowned Islamic scholar Dr. Zakir Naik, currently on a visit to Pakistan, has faced criticism for some of his controversial statements. One of his notable critics is Pakistani actress Mishi Khan, who recently spoke out against him. However, Dr. Naik, known for his calm demeanor, has made it clear that he does not respond to criticism, even when it includes harsh words.
While speaking during his stay in Karachi, where he has addressed multiple gatherings and given interviews, Dr. Naik explained his philosophy when it comes to handling criticism. During an interview on a private TV channel, the host asked Dr. Naik about his views on the importance of debates among Muslims compared to inviting non-Muslims to Islam.
Dr. Zakir Naik responded, saying, “For me, both are essential. Debating among Muslims for reform and inviting non-Muslims to the truth of Islam are equally important because Islam encourages us to guide people to the right path.”
In the interview, Dr. Naik emphasized that if people follow the teachings of the Quran and Sunnah, there would never be any tension. He further explained, “Many people speak against me, but I don’t have any issue with them.”

He shared his personal approach, stating, “My formula is simple: If someone criticizes me, I don’t respond. I tell my team to let me know if there’s any constructive feedback, but if it’s just criticism, let it be.”
Dr. Naik added, “Even if someone insults me, it doesn’t bother me. I’ve had scholars speak against me on stage, and I still have no issue with it. People often wonder how I can stay so composed in such situations.”
Mishi Khan’s Criticism of Dr. Zakir Naik
Recently, Mishi Khan publicly criticized Dr. Zakir Naik for his remarks about Pakistan and the national airline, PIA. In her statement, she urged the government to stop giving state guest status and protocol to figures like Zakir Naik and Javed Akhtar, questioning why Pakistan invites people who later criticize the country. She sarcastically suggested that if India is so favorable, then such individuals should stay there.
This statement by Mishi Khan came in response to Dr. Naik’s remarks, sparking a broader debate on social media. Despite the backlash, Dr. Zakir Naik has remained unfazed, adhering to his principle of not engaging with critics.
