Is a wedding now a prerequisite for road construction? If yes, then heartfelt thanks to Saad Rafique, whose daughter’s wedding in Paragon City finally delivered what years of complaints could not, a repaired Barki Road.
For years, residents pleaded. From the DC Office to the PM’s online portal, complaints were filed repeatedly. Sewage water, unbearable stench, broken roads, damaged vehicles, and daily misery became routine. Nothing moved. The road remained broken and ignored.
Then came the wedding.
Suddenly, miracles happened. Machines arrived. Asphalt appeared. The road outside Paragon City was repaired. Thousands will now surely pray for Saad Rafique, not for governance, but for excellent wedding timing.
Ironically, Saad Rafique and Dr. Salman Rafique are stakeholders in Paragon Society. Yet the Barki Road issue received no attention earlier, perhaps because Saad Rafique is no longer an MNA and his brother, Dr. Salman Rafique, is an MPA and minister from a different constituency. So naturally, whose responsibility was it?
Even more unfortunate is the fact that a large portion of Barki Road falls within Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s constituency. But since he resides in Islamabad, it appears the problems of his own constituency did not reach him, possibly stuck somewhere along the same sewage-filled road.
So congratulations once again to Saad Rafique on his daughter’s wedding, and thank you for the repair of the road outside Paragon Society.
Now, a humble request: Could any politician please arrange another wedding, this time in Green City’s grounds, so the next stretch of Barki Road also gets repaired and residents can finally breathe easy.
The public is ready with flowers and prayers.
