Park Soo Ryun, a renowned South Korean actress known for her role in the popular K-drama series “Snowdrop” on Disney+, has tragically passed away at the age of 29.
According to the Mirror, Ryun suffered a fatal accident on Sunday when she slipped down a flight of stairs at a property on Jeju Island, the largest island in South Korea, where she was scheduled to perform.
Despite immediate medical attention, she was pronounced brain dead by the medical team after their attempts to revive her proved unsuccessful.
The Post has reached out to Disney+ spokespeople for a comment on this devastating news. Unfortunately, The Post was unable to immediately contact a representative for Ryun.
In a touching gesture, Ryun’s family has made the decision to donate her organs, as reported by K-pop website Soompi. Her mother shared with South Korean media, “Only her brain is unconscious, and her heart is still beating. There must be someone who desperately needs [organs].
As her mother and father, we will be able to live comforted [by the thought that her heart] has gone to someone and is beating.”
Ryun first gained prominence in 2018 through her participation in the musical “Il Tenore.” She made her debut in television acting with her role in “Snowdrop” alongside Jisoo, a member of the popular K-pop group Blackpink.
It is a heartbreaking coincidence that fellow “Snowdrop” cast member Kim Mi-soo also passed away unexpectedly at the age of 29 last year.
