Well-known Indian singer Diljit Dosanjh garnered love from fans at a recent concert in the UK by bridging the gap between India and Pakistan as a symbol of peace.
At his recent concert in Manchester, the 40-year-old Punjabi music star invited a fan on stage and gave her a gift – a signed box of sneakers – in a touching act.
In front of a large crowd of thousands of fans, Doshanjh continued to engage with the amazed fan by inquiring about her hometown.
In reply to the inquiry from the Indian celebrity, the anonymous fan mentioned she was from Pakistan.
After hearing her response, the Punjabi artiste asked the audience to applaud, promoting affectionate connections between people from both sides of the border.
In my eyes, India and Pakistan are all the same to me. “Punjabi hearts hold love for all,” he remarked, as fans cheered loudly at his concert.
Dosanjh called for unity and love between the two countries which still have troubled diplomatic relations. He stated that the borders separating nations were the “products of our politicians.”
Dosanjh has demonstrated his admiration for Pakistani music by singing the well-known Punjabi song ‘Jugni’ by popular Pakistani singer Arif Lohar during a show in Dallas in May.
Dosanjh began his artistic journey in Jalandhar, India in 2002 and has quickly become one of the top Punjabi stars today.
Having talent in both singing and acting, he has moved from minor roles to major roles in Punjabi films as well as in mainstream Bollywood films, gaining a large following.
